Weingut Karl H. Johner

In 1985 after ten years abroad Karl Heinz Johner and his wife Irene founded a little Weingut (vineyard & winery) in their home village “Bischoffingen” in the Kaiserstuhl. His focus was on the Burgundian styles - wines full of structure and pure elegance. Despite having to overcome problems relating to winemaking in the Kaiserstuhl and German wine laws the young Weingut soon established himself as a pioneer of a new German winestyle recognised as being of an International class. Today “Weingut Karl H Johner” is considered one of the best Estates in Germany and is recognised amongst most wine experts.
